Hello people of the internet! Paige here.
This blog is being set up for the posting of assignments for the
WRD 110 English class. It will consist of the different components of the
class, including two essays, one being my choice essay and the other an
analysis essay, and a speech. I am hoping that through the practice of creating
this blog, I will learn some more techniques of communicating on a large scale.
This blog will help me learn to communicate my ideas in new ways that will be
beneficial to being an engaged internet user.
The concept of running a blog specifically for an English class is
not foreign to me at all. Three out of my four English classes in high school
all incorporated a blog into part of the curriculum for the class. Some were
more intensive than others, with a blog post being due at least once a week,
while others were more infrequent. The posts usually consisted of prompts
to write about ourselves just so that we’d have frequent writing practice.
There were also regular posts we had to make that included reading and
analyzing a text. That has helped me with the creation of this blog a great
deal. I am very familiar with formatting the blog through Blogger and just
generally how the website operates.
I am very much in support of using the blog as a learning
technique, especially for English classes. It helps to teach different writing
styles and types of communication. I strongly believe that it has helped me
improve my writing in the past. I am hoping that this blog will have a similar
effect and will push my abilities even further than they already are.
I hope this blog is enjoyable, and the assignments posted are
interesting to peruse! I hope it will be as beneficial to you as it has been to
me.
